Abstract

This study was aimed to find out whether or not group guidance services discussion technique affected students self-concept at MTs Negeri 1 Palembang (Local Jakabaring). This study was experimental that used Pre-experimental design One Group Pretest-Posttest Design and the treatment was given 3 times used group guidance services discussion technique. The sample of this study was 6 students of 8th grade at MTs Negeri 1 Palembang (Local Jakabaring) who were selected based on purposive sampling technique with the sample criteria was students who had low pre-test scores. The data collection used was self-concept scale. Based on the result of the data analysis, the significant level was 0.05 5% where t_critical = 12.8 higher than t_table = 2.446. The result of this study indicated that group guidance services discussion technique affected students’ self-concept at MTs Negeri 1 Palembang (Local Jakabaring).
