Abstract

This research aim to know the characteristics and the spread of HOTS exercise questions on the subject of trigonometry in teaching materials used by teachers. HOTS level used refers to the Bloom taxonomy that are analyse (C4), evaluate (C5), and create (C6). The data collecting technic used in this research is document. The analysis model used is Miles and Huberman that has three stages, that are data reduction, data display, and conclusion. Based on the analysis, the HOTS exercise questions in teaching materials are dominated by exercise questions with the cognitive level of evaluate (C5), with the percentage of 9,8% on the first teaching material and 4,72% on the second teaching material. This research does not find exercise questions on the cognitive level of analyse (C4) and create (C6).
