Abstract

The background of this research is the fact that P availability is commonly lovv in acid soil of South Sumatera. The objective of this research are increase soil P availability and sweet com growth {Zea mays saccharata Sturt) on lowland soil amended with combination of lime, organic matter and PSB consortiumThis research was conducted from July 2006 to May 2007 in the green house andLaboratory of Chemical, Biology and Soil Fertility, Soil Science Depaitement,Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University. This research was pot experiment at greenhouse based on Completely Randomized Design with 8 treatmenls and 4 replicates, sothat found 32 experimental units. The treatments are as follows : Control. PSB . Organic Matter, Lime, (PSB + Organic Matter), (PSB + Lime), (Organic Matter -t- Lime) and (PSB + Organic Matter + Lime).The result conclude, that single treatment BO and the combination with another treatment better increase soil P availability and sweet com growth {Zea mays saccharata Sturt) on lowland soil amended. This matter shows, that gift BO singlely also the combination with another treatment was important role in increase soil P availability and sweet com growth {Zea mays saccharata Sturt) i n this research.
