Abstract
Pathogenic bacteria are diseasecausing microorganisms that can infect fish and can cause mass mortality in cultured fish. This study aims to obtain and classify isolates of pathogenic bacteria from the kidneys and eyes on different culture media, and to identify and analyze isolates of pathogenic bacteria from different culture media biochemically. The research was conducted on June 14 to July 12, 2021 at the Main Center for Marine Aquaculture of Lampung (MCMA). The fish samples used were Silver pompano (Trachinotus blochii) 3 fish, Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer) 6 fish, Humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis) 1 fish and Hybrid grouper (Epinephelus fuscoguttatus><E. lanceolatus) 1 fish. Fish samples were taken from floating net cages (FNC) owned by MCMA and farmers in the Hurun Bay area. The target organs for inoculation and identification were the kidneys and eyes. Bacterial identification technique uses biochemical tests, which is a way to identify bacteria through the characteristics of their physiological substances. The results obtained 15 samples of bacterial isolates that infect cultured marine fish from the isolation media of TSA 2% NaCl, TCBS and MA. Bacterial identification based on biochemical characterization showed 6 isolates of V. alginolyticus, 4 isolates of V. vulnificus and 5 isolates of P. damselae.
