Abstract

Indonesian waters are tropical waters that have high fishery resources, one of which is shark. Sharks are the top level consumers in marine ecosystems that are threatened because of their high economic value. Indonesian fishermen catch sharks as the main catch and bycatch.Shark fishing activities at the Muncar Beach Fishing Port come from direct catches of local fishermen in the waters of the Bali Strait. Shark fishing is related to the utilization of various shark products from collectors to exporters or from collectors to consumers.The data used in this study are primary data and secondary data. Primary data were obtained by field observations and interviews with fishermen and shark trading business actors at the Muncar Fishery Port, East Java Province. Secondary data was obtained through BPSPL Denpasar to find out information on data on the number of shark exports, and export destinations. From October 2020 to February 2021, there are 25 species of shark species with a total number of 650 individuals and a total weight of 21,758 Kg. Shark fins are exported to Sri Lanka, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore.
