Abstract

How to design lesson based on the realistic approach is a report of Literature Review. It is a part of study called CASCADE IMEI, computer assisted curriculum analysis, design and evaluation for Innovation in Indonesian mathematics education. In order to learn Realistic Mathematics Education (RME)as an innovation instructional theory, one has to know how to design a lesson based on that theory. In this article, a global theory, three principles and five characteristics of RME was discussed. Also, how this theory is implemented in the process of designing lesson is presented.
