Abstract
This study is aiming for developing a symbolic thinking activity video for children aged 5-6 years which has been tested for validity and practicality. The development model used by Rwontree and Tessmer's formative evaluation with stages of needs, product design, and evaluation consisting of self evaluation, expert review, one to one evaluation and small group evaluation. In data collection techniques using walkthrough and observation. In data collection, the data were analyzed by percentage to see whether it was valid and practical. The results of the study indicate that the material validity is 75% and the media validity is 88%, where the average product validity is 81% which is categorized as very valid. In the one to one evaluation stage, it involved three children aged 5-6 years with a result of 91% and the small group evaluation stage involved nine children aged 5-6 years with a result of 87% of the two results obtained an average value of 89 % which is categorized as very practical. Thus the Development of Symbolic Thinking Activity Videos for Children aged 5-6 Years. The drawback of this study is the selection of puzzle activities because children find it difficult to concentrate on puzzle activities.
