Abstract
Opius sp. is a biocontrol agents of Liriomyza sativae on cucumber. To the longevity and parasitical ability of Opius sp. is needed in order to be more effective and efficient. The objectives of the research was to study the increase longevity and parasitical ability of Opius sp. The research was conducted in laboratory of Entomology and Screen house Departement of Plant Pest and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture Sriwijaya University. The research was started in March until August 2007. The research used Completely Randomized Design was used wish four treatments and four replications. The treatments were: without flowering plants (control), with Euphorbia heterophylla L., with Tridax procumbens L. and Arachis pintoi L. Parameters were: longevity of Opius sp., amount of Opius sp., amount of larvae L. sativae, mortality of larvae L. sativae and parasitical ability. The results showed that the flowering plant A. pintoi can increase longevity of Opius sp. (80 hours with average 74 hours), while T. procumbens (56 hours with average 40 hours), E. heterophylla (32 hours with average 28 hours) and control (48 hours with average 34 hours). The parasitical ability of Opius sp. on flowering plant A. pintoi was average 67.38%, and T. procumbens was 50%. While E. heterophylla and control was only 26.25%.
