Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) Analyzing the investment costs and operating costs of the oil palm business in Sungai Rengit Village, (2) Analyzing the income from oil palm plantations in Sungai Rengit Village, and (3) Analyzing financial feasibility and sensitivity of oil palm plantation business in Sungai Rengit Village. This research was conducted in Sungai Rengit Village, Talang Kelapa District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province. This location was selected purposively. Data collection was carried out in March 2021. The research method used in this study was the Survey Method. The sampling of samples in this study was to an oil palm plantation business owner in Sungai Rengit Village. The samples of the research are oil palm plantation business owner, that was selected by using Purposive Sampling method by the consideration that the owner is the most knowledge about the information. The data used in this study are primary and secondary data. The results showed that (1) the investment cost of the oil palm plantation business was Rp27.800.000 and the operational cost of the oil palm plantation business was Rp15.265.200/year. (2) the amount of income from oil palm plantations is Rp6.986.553. The amount of revenue obtained is Rp22.838.400/year, which is greater than the total production costs incurred of Rp15.851.867/year. which means that the oil palm plantation business in Sungai Rengit Village can cover all costs incurred in the production process. (3) The financial feasibility of an oil palm plantation business is declared feasible to be cultivated during the production life of the plant based on the obtained NPV value of Rp. 424,627,951, Net B/C of 5,16, IRR of 34,26% percent which is greater than the interest rate and Payback Period with a rate of return of 8 years. Meanwhile, in the sensitivity analysis, if there is a decrease in production levels by 31,90 percent and an increase in operational costs by 53,01 percent, the oil palm plantation business in Sungai Rengit Village is still declared feasible to be cultivated.
