Abstract

Skripsi ini ditulis berdasarkan hasil penulisan yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai sifat fisik dan kimia tanah dalam rangka penilaian kelas kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman kelapa sawit di Desa Simpang Tiga Makmur Kecamatan Tulung Selapan Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir. Analisis tanah dilakukan di iaboraturium Balai Penelitian Tanah Bogor. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan Desember 2008 — Juli 2009. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survai semi detil dengan mengggunkan Peta Dasar Rupa Bumi JANTOP TNI AD skala 1 : 50.000, yang meliputi pengamatan langsung dilapangan serta pengambilan contoh tanah pada areal penelitian yang telah ditentukan dengan luas areal + 900 hektar. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa tekstur tanah pada iokasi penelitian adalah liat berdebu, pH tanah bereaksi masam yaitu berkisar 5,2 - 5,4, N- total cukup tinggi berkisar 0,29 - 0,52 %, P2O5 tergolong rendah berkisar 6,7 — 13,1 ppm, K2O tersedia tergolong tinggi berkisar 9-11 mg/100 g, KTK sedang berkisar 18,14 - 29,27 me/lOOg. Kesesuaian aktual untuk tanaman kelapa sawit yaitu SPT 1 (N-r/w,,), SPT 2 (N-rjrip), SPT 3 (N-r/Wp), SPT 4 (N-r/) yang berati faktor pembatasnya yaitu kelas drainase dan Unsur hara P yang rendah). Kesesuaian lahan Potensial SPT 1 dan SPT 3 adalah sesuai (S|) untuk SPT 2 dan SPT 4 adalah cukup sesuai (Sy-rj) dengan faktor pembatas edalaman efektif.
