Abstract

This research purposes to know the diversity of pests in eggplant that using organic fertilizers. This research was done in farmer’s upland who planted eggplant in the Serai Indah Indralaya Ogan Ilir. The was identified at Department of Plant Pests and Diseases Faculty of Agriculture laboratory, Sriwijaya University. Implementation time is from March until May 2010. This research was done by direct observation in the field, then the result of the observation that was obtained to be analyzed descriptively and were presented in the form of tabulations. As the results shows that the eggplant were found six pest kinds that attack was leaf beetle (Epilachna sparsa H.), green Ladybugs (Nezara viridula L.), army worm (Spodoptera litura F.), fruit worm (Helicoverpa armigera Hubner.), stem borer (Leucinodes orbonalis Guenee.) , walang rice pest (Leptocorixa oratarius F.). In eggplant in the land observations, stem borer was important pests because it had high population, attacked all of plant of the eggplant so the eggplants were hampered their growth.
