Abstract

Penelitian mengenai Studi Komunitas Plankton di Perairan Kanal Kertapati Kota Palembang telah dilakukan pada bulan Juni- Agustus 2010. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui struktur komunitas plankton yang meliputi kelimpahan keanekaragamanan, dominansi plankton dan kesamaan antar stasiun. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Purposive Random Sampling dengan 5 perairan kanal kertapati Kota Palembang. Hasil Penelitian didapatkan stuktur penyusun komunitas plankton di Perairan Kanal Kertapati Kota Palembang terdm dan 96 genus yang berasal dari 8 kelas yaitu Chlorophyceae, Bacilllanophyceae, Cyanophyceae, Euglenophyceae, Crustaceae, Protozoa, Rhizopoda dan Rotatoria. Kelimpahan komunitas plankton di Perairan Kanal Kertapati Kota Palembang berkisar antara 23-268 ind/ liter. Kriteria indeks keanekaragaman plankton tergolong sedang berkisar antara 1,36- 2,44. Secara umum indeks dominansi komunitas plankton di Perairan Kanal Kertapati Kota Palembang tergolong rendah berkisar antara 0 06 - 0 48, yang menunjukkan tidak ada genus yang mendominansi. Indeks kesamaan komunitas plankton di Perairan Kanal Kertapati Kota Palembang berada pada kisaran 49,27%- 77,10%.
