Abstract

Uji Efektivitas Beberapa Fraksi dari Rimpang Lengkuas Putih {Alpinia galanga (Linn.) Willd.} terhadap Mortalitas Larva Instar III Aedes aegypti Linn telah dilakukan pada bulan Febuari-April 2011 di Laboratorium Genetika & Bioteknologi, Jurusan Biologi, Fakutas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Universitas Sriwijaya Sedangkan uji pengendalian dilakukan di Laboratorium Entomologi Lokalitbang P2B2 Baturaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui fraksi aktif rimpang lengkuas putih yang paling tinggi aktivitas larvasidanya pada Ae. aegypti, mengkaji perbandingan fraksi aktif rimpang lengkuas putih dengan abate terhadap mortalitas larva Ae. aegypti, serta menentukan nilai LC50 dari fraksi aktif rimpang lengkuas putih terhadap larva Ae. aegypti. Pemisahan bahan bioaktif dilakukan secara bertahap dimulai dari proses ekstraksi (maserasi), dan fraksinasi. Kemudian dilakukan uji aktivitas larvasida terhadap Larva Aedes aegypti. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan fraksi aktif adalah fraksi n-heksan. Nilai LCso dari fraksi n-heksan terhadap Larva Aedes aegypti pengamatan 24 jam adalah 2,2 ppm dan pengamatan 48 jam adalah 0,894 ppm. Penentuan golongan senyawa insektisida yang terdapat dalam rimpang lengkuas putih termasuk golongan senyawa fenol dan terpenoid. Fraksi n-heksan rimpang lengkuas putih mempunyai aktivitas larvasida yang sama kuatnya dengan abate.
