Abstract
Hydrocracking of Jatropha crude oil was conducted using Ni-active natural zeolite catalyst before and after regeneration. Hydrocracking temperature varied 200°C, 350°C, 450°C, and 550°C, the flow of hydrogen gases 4 mL/min, and the weight of Ni-active natural zeolite catalyst was 5 g, and the volume of Jatropha crude oil was 40 mL. The catalyst which has used afterwards was regenerated with two method calcination and the calcination of oxidationreduction. The hydrocracking product of jatropha crude oil was analysed including viscosity and density, and the Ni-active natural zeolite catalyst before and after regeneration be measured acidity. The result showed the best value of viscosity and density for hydrocracking temperature at 550°C was 0.0293 poise and 0.8619 g/mL. The acidity before used was 3.3674 mmol/gr, after it was used the acidity value on hydrocracking temperature 550°C was 0.8567 mmol/g. The catalyst was regenerated with calcination has acidity value 1.1204 mmol/g. Whereas calcination of oxidation-reduction regeneration has acidity value 1.5973 mmol/g. The Ni- active natural zeolite catalyst after regeneration as caltination of oxidation-reduction was reused in hydrocracking process on temperature 550°C produced the product with best value of viscosity and density were 0.0188 poise and 0.8302 g/mL.
