Abstract

Eurydema pulchrum (West.) with common name cabbage bug is one of the important pests of chinese cabbage. When seriously attacked, all leaves and stem of the plant will become yellow and the plant finally dead.The objective of the research was to figure out the population, damage persentage, parasitoid species and parasitization level of E. pulchrum on chinese cabage. The research was conducted in Village of Talang Buruk from July toSeptember 2005.Data collection was done by direct observation on each sample plant every three days started when the plant aged three days until to its’ seed production phase (51 days). The observation consisted of E. pulchrum population, E. pulchrum damage persentage, egg parasitoid of E. pulchrum and parasitation level of E. pulchrum eggs.The results showed that the population of E. pulchrum in experiment location were 1.71 nymphs per plant and 0.28 adult per plant. Damage persentage of E. pulchrum was 3.53% at the highest. Damage on seed was 13.98% at the highest. The species of E. pulchrum egg parasitoid was Telenomus sp. Family of Scelionidae with parasitation level ranged from 7.14 to 100%.
