Abstract
Wastewater treatment of procion red dyes have been done using composite Fe304 - activated carbon of coconut shell. Characterization of composite Fe304 - activated carbon used SEM and XRD.. The evaluated parameter were optimum weight ratio variation were 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 mg, optimum contact time variation were 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60 minutes and optimum pH variation were 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 to decreased wastewater concentrations of procion red dyes. Analysis of SEM shown that Fe304 has been closed the surface area of activated carbon. XRD difffaction pattem shown Fe304 identical peaks. Optimum conditions of procion red dyes adsorption was weight of composite 30 mg, contact time 50 minutes, and pH 7. Wastewater concentrations of procion red before adsorption was 68.48 ppm. Optimum conditions application on procion red dyes of songket wastewater got concentrations of procion red was 6.30 ppm with decreased effectiveness 90.80 %.
