Abstract
Preparation of AI2O3 pillared bentonite and effect of HNO3 for adsorption by pillared bentonite has been done. Activated bentonite using H2SO4 0,5 M, 1 M, 1,5 M, and 2 M. Then it was continued with adsorbed ammonium in 4, 8, 16, and 24 hours. The optimum condition of adsorption of bentonite is 2 M and adsorption time 24 hours. Bentonite pillarization using aluminium poly-oxy-cation which was AI2O3 (kegin) with (OH/Al) were 1:2, 1:2,2, and T.2,5, and with concentration ratio of (Al/Bentonite) were 1 mmol, 2,5 mmol, and 5 mmol. Calcination using 2,45 Ghz microwave with variations of calcination time which were 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 minutes. Pillared bentonite which was resulted then adsorbed with ammonium for 24 hours. The optimum result of ammonium absorbed by bentonite is ratio of kegin 1:2,2. The optimum calcination time is 20 minutes and the optimum concentration of (Al/Bentonite) is 1 mmol. The resistance of optimum conditioned bentonite was tested using nitric acid. From these tests we can concluded that pillared bentonite cauxssed the decreasing of ability to absorb bentonite.
