Abstract
A n investigation of the utilization of activated carbon from wood gelam {Melaleuca leucodendronn Linn) for adsorption of plumbum (Pb2+) and applicated waste water in Pertamina Ltd. In this research, optimum condition of adsorption Pb2+ were determined from particle size of activated carbon, contact time, concentrations of metal ionic Pb2+solution, and pH. Pb2+remain were using AAS. The result showed that the optimum adsorption of activated carbon is particle size 140 mesh, contact time 90 minutes, concentration 18 mg/L, and pH 7. The adsorptivity of activated carbon in optimum condition to metal ionic Pb2+ is 4.0797 mg/g. Adsorptivity activated carbon in aplicated waste water in Pertamina Ltd at the optimum condition is 3.5 mg/g.
