Abstract
Conversion of cyclohexanone to adipic acid using 30% H2O2 is an ideal clean oxidant H5BW12O40 and H4PVM011O40 as catalysts has been done. The influence of reaction time and temperature oxidation reaction studied of reaction time 6-9 hours and temperature 80°C-105°C. The conversion of adipic acid was characterized by measuring the melting point, identification using GC-MS, spectrophotometer FT-IR and spectrometer NMR (13C and 1H). The results showed that adipic acid is formed from oxidation of cyclohexanone yielded 30% - 48% with melting point in the range of 149°C-151°C. The effect of reaction time gave adipic acid 41% for reaction time 7 hours. The effect of temperature oxidation reaction showed the highest adipic acid obtained at 100°C yielded 48%. The use of H4PVM011O40 did not produced adipic acid. The FT-IR spectra of the product is well agreed with the FT-IR spectra of adipic acid Standard and NMR spectra (13C and 1H)NMR showed that adipic acid have a formula C6H10O4 is agreed with molecular structure of adipic acid.
