Abstract
The research objective was to determine and to study the identification of age and position of pineapple leaves in relation to pineapple leave fiber characteristics. This study conducted by using description method and the results were presented in tabular forms. The observed parameters were fiber curliness, fiber draw strength, fiber diameter and colouring. The results showed that the lowest fiber curlyness of 1.73% was found at threeyear old pineapple leave at first position using colouring of napthol (U3L1 N). The highest fiber draw strength of 0.198 x 1010 N/m2 was found at three-year old pineapple fiber leave at first position without napthol colouring (U3L1 TP). The biggest fiber diameter of 98.87 mp was found at three-year old pineapple leave at first position using napthol colouring (U3LI N). The pineapple fiber colour without using napthol and procion for all ages and positions was the same wich was represented by pale yellow. The colour of pineapple leave fiber using napthol colouring for all ages and positions was are dark yellowish brown. The colour of pineapple leave fiber using procion colouring for all ages and position are blue green.
