Abstract

Obesity is a condition of abnormal or excessive accumulation of fat in the adipose tissue to a certain degree that can damage health. Obesity is caused by several things, one of which is diet settings. This era, obesity is a world problem, even the World Health Organization (WHO) called it a global epidemic. Adolescence is a transitional period of development between childhood and adulthood. Obesity is very vulnerable in adolescence, because at this time adolescents are very difficult to control themselves, including the diet. One of the ways to overcome obesity is by setting diet. There are several diet programs that can be done by people with obesity, one of which is low-calorie diet. Therefore, it is necessary a system that can provide dietary recommendations in accordance with user preferences and attention to the nutritional needs of patients. Recommendation system is expected to narrow the information so that patients get advice and directed to the information in accordance with the preferences and needs of each. In this case, the method used is Content Based Filtering. This Content Based Filtering method tries to recommend items similar to those favored by users based on history. The programming language used in the design of this system is PHP using the codeigniter framework. The results of this study is a system that can recommend a diet menu for obese people in adolescents that fit their preferences and nutritional needs.
