Abstract

This study aims to determine the best concentration of LOF on the growth and yields of shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) Bima Brebes variety using mixed media of chicken manure on floating system. This research was carried out in a pond located within the Agricultural Cultivation Area, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya, Indralaya (104°64'86”E; 3°22'51”S). The implementation time of the research started from August up to October 2021. The method used in this study is the Randomized Complitely Block Design (RCBD) method which consists of one factor, namely concentration level which consists of 4 concentration levels and was repeated 3 times so that a total of 12 are obtained. treatments and 3 plants in each unit, of plants total observed was 36. The treatments dose of liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) consisted of P0 = using NPK 16- 16-16 fertilizer (control); P1 = 4 ml LOF per liter (50% LOF dose); P2 = 8 ml LOF per liter (100% LOF dose); and P3 = 16 ml LOF per liter (200% LOF dose). Parameters observed included leaf length, number of leaves, number of tillers, leaf greenness, bulbs diameter, stove fresh weight, bulbs fresh weight, stove sun dry weight, and bulbs sun dry weight. The result of the research showed that the LOF concentration treatments had no significant effect on almost all parameters, namely on growth and yields, parameters growth the number of tillers in the 2nd week of clustering which showed a significant results. The application of LOF 16 ml per liter can balance the funcation of inorganic NPK fertilizer 1,4 g per polybag growth and yields of shallot in mixed media of chicken manure on floating system.
