Abstract
Steroid had been isolated from cytotoxic active fraction of the root wood Sari Rapet’s by maseration method with methanol as the solven. Continuing with fractionation vvith increasing by polarity : n-hexane, dichloromethane and ethylacetate. n-Hexane fraction showed the highest cytotoxic activity with LC50 =151,71 ppm. Separation and purification to n-hexasane fraction gave needle’s crystal (Mp : 133-134°C) that positif test to the steroid. The needle’s crystal gave 1 spot on TLC with varying eluen and showed 1 peak (Rt 5,02 minutes) in GC chromatogram. The Infrared spectra gave absorption peak at 3428,5 cm'1, 2934,8 and 2848,7 cm*1, 1660,5 cm"1,1464,4 cm'1, 1381,3 cm'1, 1053,3 cm'1 and 837,8 cm'1,that indicated fungsional group of O-H, C-H olefinic. C=C isolated, C-H cyclopenthane, C-H isopropyl, C-0 alkohol and C-H olefinic with 3 substituen respectively. The Massa Spectra exihibited a molecular formula C29H50O. Base on spectroscopy data and compare data base librarv of massa spectra the steroid suggested as sterol group that is stigmast-7-en-3-ol (5 betha, 3 alpha, 24S).
