Abstract
This study is entitled "Development of Talking Stick Media Based on Gaps in History Learning to Increase Students’ Local Cultural Awareness for Tenth Graders of SMA Negeri 1 Sekayu". This study uses teaching materials on the Role of the Kijing Bay Site Against the Kingdom of Sriwijaya. This research has been applied in the class X IPS 2 of SMAN 1 Sekayu. The purpose of this study is to develop Talking Stick media based on gaps so the media becomes a valid learning and has an effectiveness in history subjects at Public Senior High School of One Sekayu. This research is a development research that uses Hannafin and Peck's development model (Requirement Analysis, Design Stage, Development and Evaluation). The validity of instructional media was assessed by three experts. namely, material experts, instructional design experts, and media experts. The validity of the material has a value of 4.14 with a valid category, the validity of the learning design has a value of 4.29 with a very valid category, the validity of the media has a value of 4.20 with a very valid category. Overall, the results of the validity of the experts get an average value of 4.23 included in the category of very valid. The effect of learning media using Talking Sticks on history subjects at Public Senior High School of One Sekayu can be seen in the improvement of student learning outcomes before and after using learning media at the field trial stage, which is 40.8% with an N-gain of 0.64. This shows that the Talking Sticks learning media based on gaps in history subjects at Public Senior High School of One Sekayu with material on the Role of the Kijing Bay Site Against the Kingdom of Sriwijaya has a valid value and effectiveness.
