Abstract

This study discusses local wisdom in lebak swamp land management and its effect on the income of rice farmers. The purpose of this study was to: (1) identifying, classifying and assessing local wisdom that exists and can be maintained in Kerinjing Village, Tanjung Raja District, Ogan Ilir Regency by using the ISEPSA Matrix tool popularized by Prof. Fachrurrozie Sjarkowi, (2) analyzing the income of rice farmers in Lebak swampland in Kerinjing Village, Tanjung Raja District, Ogan Ilir Regency by using farm income analysis starting with the calculation of total farming costs, revenue and total income, (3) analyzing the influence of local wisdom in swampland management Lebak on the income of rice farmers in Kerinjing Village, Tanjung Raja District, Ogan Ilir Regency by using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) Method. The location of this research was chosen intentionally (purposive sampling). The research activity was carried out from March to April 2021. This research is a descriptive study with a survey method. The sampling method used in this study is a simple random sampling method. The number of farmer samples taken were 100 sample farmers and the data collected in this study consisted of primary data and secondary data. The results showed that (1) In Kerinjing Village, the majority of farmers still maintain local wisdom in the management of lebak swamp land, especially in rice farming activities, (2) The total income of Lebak swamp rice farmers in Kerinjing Village per year is Rp308,449,000, with an average -the average per year is Rp3,084,490, (3) Based on the results of the analysis using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method, it is found that local wisdom in land preparation and processing as well as local wisdom in seeding, planting, and maintenance, have a significant effect on income of rice farmers so that this local wisdom needs to be disseminated so that it can be maintained. Meanwhile, local wisdom in harvesting and post-harvesting has no effect on the income of rice farmers, so there needs to be changes that can be applied by farmers in order to increase the income and value of community prosperity.
