Abstract

The market is a place for the interaction process between traders and market visitors. Markets that do not meet the sanitary requirements of healthy markets can increase the risk of transmission of various diseases between individuals and can become a breeding ground for disease vectors. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the extent to which environmental sanitation facilities and infrastructure can support adaptation in the new normal era during the Covid-19 pandemic at Modern Traditional Market I Prabumulih City. This research is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observations, and assessment sheets. The research informants of traders, visitors and market managers were 13 people. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data analysis was carried out in an inductive way, namely drawing general conclusions based on specific observations. The results of observational research and in-depth interviews show that the availability of environmental sanitation facilities and infrastructure such as building construction, sanitation facilities, clean and healthy living behavior, and trade health protocols have not met the requirements. Sanitation facilities such as location and market security have met the requirements of a healthy market. Based on the results, it is necessary to provide and improve environmental sanitation facilities and infrastructure that do not meet the requirements of a healthy market in the Prabumulih Modern Traditional Market I, such as improving the construction of environmental sanitation buildings and education on clean and healthy living behavior as an adaptation effort during the Covid-19 pandemic and increasing the degree of public health
