Abstract
This study evaJuated the antibacterial activity of combination of secang and mangosteen extract against Bacillus cereus and Eschericia coli. The extracts were maserated by water and freezdryed. Antibacterial activity was tested by using well diffusion method. The measured parameter was the diameter of inhibited zone. This research mangosteen and secang 2:8, 4:6, 5:5, 6:4, 8:2 with inhibition zone of B. cereus sequentially are 18.4, 16.8, 17.3, 13.5, 14.6 mm and E. coli sequentially are 15.6, 14.3, 13, 12.5, 12.6 mm. The research show that the antibacterial activity of combination extract is bigger than of single extract. The measured of minimum, inhibition concentration showed that the combination of two extracts had an antibacterial activity against B. cereus and E. coli with minimum inhibition concentration sequentially were 0.075% and 0.2%. Total fenol in mangosteen are 94.047 mg/g. Total fenol in secang are 590.428 mg/g. show that the combination proportion of 7 .
