Abstract
Department of Mathematics Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has Interest Sector Group (KBM), namely: Pure Mathematics, Optimization, Statistics, Actuarial and Computation. Curiculum Mathematics Department consist of General Subject Group (MKU), Basic Subject Group (MKD) and Compulsory Subject Group (MKW) and Choice Subject in KBM. The purpose of this research is to analyze student grouping based on GPA (Grade Point Average) and GP (Grade Points) in subject group by using single linkage method and complete linkage method. The single linkage method produces 2 clusters for 50% similarity and produces 14 clusters for 75% similarity. Whereas for the complete linkage method with 50% similarity produces 9 clusters. The results of the single linkage method cluster analysis, in general, students who have a high GPA tend to have a high IP in the group of General MK, Basic MK, Mandatory MK, and KBM Statistics. In this method, students who have a dominant high GPA choose KBM Statistics. While the results of cluster analysis with the complete linkage method, students who have a high GPA tend to have a high IP in the group of General MK, Basic MK, Mandatory MK, and Pure and Computing KBM. In this method, students who have a dominant high GPA choose Pure and Computing KBM.
