Abstract

The research objective was to determine proper composition of crumb rubber chip compost by considering water storage effieciency and high production yield of kailan (Brassica oleraceae var. Acephala). This research was conducted from January 2019 to June 2017 at greenhouse of Department of Agricultural Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research used nonfactorial randomized block design which consisted of composition of crumb rubber chip compost (A) using five replications. The parameters were water storage efficiency, fresh weight matter, dry weight matter, number of leaves, plant hight, and root dry weight. The result of research showed that addition of crumb rubber chip waste had effect on water storage efficiency and yield of kailan. The best treatment (A2) was addition 0.2 proportion of crumb rubber chip compost based on water storage efficiency, fresh and dry weight of plant, number of leaves, height of canopy, and dry weight of root were: 73.13%, 146.67 g, 27 g, 12.27 sheets, 16.87 cm, dan 6.59 g by using drip irrigation system.
