Abstract

This study aims to discuss about foreign investment in South Bangka Regency and analyze the economic diplomacy of the South Bangka Regency government in attracting foreign investment in its territory . The research method used is descriptive qualitative analysis method . The source of data used by the author is a literature study obtained by collecting secondary and primary data . The data collection technique was carried out by in - depth interviews and collecting data from the government's official website . In this study , the author uses the theory of economic diplomacy from Peter Van Bergeijk and Selwyn Moon ( 2009 ) . From this theory , there are three elements that are the focus of the economic diplomacy of the South Bangka Regency government , namely , the use of political influence and relations , consolidation of the political climate and the right political economy environment . Through these three elements , it can be said that the economic diplomacy activities of the South Bangka Regency government are going well due to several factors . Not only the efforts made by the government and the state , but also the potential of competent regions and intergovernmental organizations also have a significant impact in attracting foreign investment in the South Bangka Regency area . The South Bangka Regency Government is mandated to always participate in economic diplomacy activities in order to increase regional economic growth .
