Abstract

The rapid development of technology in addition to giving rise to press freedom, is also able to provide encouragement to the public to convey information quickly. The existence of Citizen journalism is one of the impacts of current technological developments. In Indonesia, citizen journalism began to develop and its benefits could be felt when one of the major events occurred during the Tsunami natural disaster in Aceh on December 24, 2004, which was first conveyed by ordinary citizens to the Radio Suara Surabaya media which was immediately confirmed by the police at that time. Tribun Sumsel is one of the media that provides the Citizen Journalism rubric. For this reason, this study aims to find out how the editorial management carried out by the South Sumatra Tribune is whether it is good or not. This study uses the theory of management functions by George. R Terry assisted by the perspective of the theory of the hierarchy of influence on media content. The results of this study indicate that the management function carried out by the South Sumatra Tribune is quite good.
