Abstract
Pesisir Selatan Region in West Sumatra is an area that has great potential in the development of the tourism sector because it has a variety of natural beauty and Minangkabau culture that are still felt. However, tourism in Indonesia is generally located in Java and Bali, so that other areas that have great potential are less recognized by tourists. Apart from infrastructure, things that will support the tourism sector are tourist accommodations such as resorts. The resort is designed to attract visitors as well as the site conditions and the surrounding nature by using lightweight material such as bamboo in buildings and presenting Minangkabau culture in architectural and structural forms. The site is divided into 3 areas, that is Promontory area as a public and service zone, as well as the Bay area and Hill area as a private zone. The building is laid out following the contours of the site. The mass structure of the building will take an earthquake resistant structural system from Rumah Gadang using bamboo material. The bamboo structure. The utility system will using cluster system, for example, water sourced from PDAM will be stored in the main reservoir, then distributed to each cluster reservoir, then distributed to each building. Likewise with the electrical system. This building will make maximum use of natural ventilation and lighting. The building will still be supported by mechanical ventilation in certain spaces that require such as exhaust fan or fans. Hydrants will be placed at several points in the area and provide fire extinguishers in every building for fire prevention.
