Abstract

Lebih Senyap dari Bisikan is a novel that raise a theme of domestic life from women's point of view. This novel is very interesting to be analized because it contains the women figure in the household and patriarchy society. The purpose of this study is tu analyse how the author represents the women in the novel text. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with critical discourse analysis of the Sara Mills model. The research was conducted by dissecting the text in the novel by looking at the position of the subject-object and the position of the reader. The results of this study conclude that the conclusion can represent women by presenting the female figure as the main character who is strong and endures various family problems, as well as pressure from a patriarchal society. This novel uses women's gender point of view when telling the main character, so that women are often represented as subjects rather than objects. Readers are led to be aware of the real realities of reality and realize that there are many people who discriminate them.
