Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemahaman siswa mengenai konsep dinamika Newton menggunakan peta konsep. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan test pembuatan peta konsep. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 21 Palembang dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 37 siswa. Hasil 37 peta konsep siswa dilakukan reduksi data karena terdapat kemiripan dan didapatkan 10 peta konsep yang dianalisis. Berdasarkan pemahaman konsep siswa mengenai dinamika Newton menghasilkan masih banyak siswa yang tidak memahami konsep gaya sentripetal, dan percepatan sentripetal. Siswa paling banyak paham konsep dinamika dan gaya gesekan. Mayoritas siswa keliru pada konsep gaya, karena siswa tidak menghubungkan konsep tersebut dengan konsep percepatan dan massa. Siswa juga sulit menentukan konsep-konsep yang paling umum dan inklusif, seperti konsep dinamika sebagai superordinat, diletakkan siswa sejajar konsep kecepatan. Tidak ada siswa yang membuat cross-link pada peta konsepnya dan pada kriteria contoh paling banyak dihasilkan contoh penerapan konsep gaya gesekan.
