Abstract
Antioxidants are compounds that can protect cells from damage that can be caused by free radicals. Antioxidants can work by donating one electron to compounds that are oxidants so that the activity of these oxidant compounds can be inhibited. This research was conducted from August 2021 to December 2021. The location of the sampling was carried out in Belinyu District, Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Province. The method used to determine the antioxidant activity of shoots of Idat leaves was extraction, fractionation, antioxidant activity test using UV spectrophotometer. -Vis, DPPH and TLC, vacuum liquid chromatography, purification of compounds on column chromatography, and determination of IC 50 values. The results obtained from this study were that the extraction yielded a yield of 22.38% of methanol extract. The results of the liquid-liquid fractionation obtained the n-hexane fraction yield of 25.95%, ethyl acetate fraction 40.39%, and methanol water 32.54%. The results of the antioxidant activity test using a TLC plate, the n-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions have stronger antioxidant activity than the water methanol fraction. The conclusion of this study is that the n-hexane and ethyl acetate fractions of shoots of Idat (Cratoxylum glaucum Korth.) leaves contain terpenoid, steroid and flavonoid compounds and have very strong, strong, medium and weak antioxidant activity.
