Abstract
The research on the community of plankton in Lubuk Lampam Floodplain of Ogan Komering Ilir Regency South Sumatera had been done on May, July, and September 2012. The aims of this reseach was to compared the community of plankton by different type of habitat, that is batanghari? kumpai, and rawang. Plankton communities that have been analyzed include composition, abundance, diversity, dominancy, and similarity index from some research stations in Lubuk Lampam Floodplain. Method of sampling for the research using purposive sampling with 4 observation stations. Determination of 3 points each sampling station using random sampling methods. Physical and Chemical parameters of water covering temperature, brightness, depth, flow velocity, pH, CO2, DO, nitrate, phosphate, ammonium, Fe and sulfate. Based on the results of research, obtained plankton composition dominated by Chlorophyceae and Bacillariophyceae. The highest plankton abundance was in September at station 1 in Belanti Hulu with habitat types such as main rivers (batanghari) namely 399,500 ind/m3. The samples for May and July had been analyzed and showing the diversity index values > 2.00, means that water not yet contaminated. The diversity index in September at stations 2, 3, and 4 show the value of 1.6 to 2.00, means had been the light pollution on water. The station 1 shows that value of diversity index was 1.04, that means the water had polluted in medium scale. The dominancy index showed values < 0.5, which means that the spread of genera in each station is evenly. The Similarity index for all stations show almost point out that the genera for all of the stations are relatively not different.
