Abstract
Comorbid hypertension is a serious health problem. Comorbid hypertension has a higher severity than COVID-19 patients with other comorbidities. Hypertension is one of the comorbidities of COVID-19 which is thought to cause an increase in the severity and death of COVID-19 patients. The severity of COVID-19 can also occur because it is caused by many factors. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between comorbid hypertension and the severity of COVID-19 in Indonesia. This study uses a systematic review method with descriptive analysis. Search data performed Google Schoolar, GARUDA, Science Direct and Pubmed. The articles used were obtained from the online databases of Google Schoolar, GARUDA, Science Direct and Pubmed published from 2019 to 2022. There are 15 articles included in study form from 1,836 articles. The limitation of this study is that some articles were excluded because the data presented were not suitable for analysis. The results of the article analysis showed that there was a relationship between comorbid hypertension and the severity of COVID-19 in Indonesia. Age over 50 years affects the severity of COVID-19. This is because the condition of a person's immunity tends to decrease so that the susceptibility to pathogens is higher. Gender affects the severity of COVID-19. This is due to biological factors and lifestyle. It is hoped that other researches can further research and analyze other comorbid risk factors related to the severity of COVID-19 using quantitative synthesis methods (meta analyze). For patients it is expected to carry out early detection or pandemic screening and immediately vaccinate for patients who have a history of comorbidities.
