Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of balancing funds on increasing district/city capital expenditures in South Sumatra Province, to determine the effect of poverty on increasing district/city capital expenditures in South Sumatra Province, and to determine the effect of balancing funds and poverty on increasing Regency/City regional capital expenditure in South Sumatra Province. The scope of this research is only 15 regencies/cities in South Sumatra Province. The form of data used is panel data (pooled data), which is a combination of data from time series and cross-sectional in the 2011-2020 year range. Technical analysis in this study uses multiple linear regression analysis of panel data with the random effects model (REM) approach. The estimation results show that the balancing fund variable has a positive and significant effect on increasing district/city capital expenditures in South Sumatra Province, the poverty variable has a positive and significant effect on an increase in district/municipality capital expenditures in the province of South Sumatra, and the variables of balancing funds and poverty have a positive and significant effect simultaneously on increasing district/municipal capital expenditures in the province of South Sumatra.
