Abstract

Digital image is a representation of a two-dimensional image into a set of digital values called pixels. Digital image is widely used in various needs because it can provide information on the image. However, digital images was taken sometimes have quality degradation. One of the digital image quality degradation is poor lighting so that makes the image becomes too dark or too bright and moreover change the actual color of the object taken. Therefore, we need a method to enhance the contrast and color restoration of digital images. Research was conducted to develop software that can enhance the quality of digital images using a combination of Adaptive Multiscale Retinex with Color Restoration. Adaptive Multiscale Retinex (AMSR) method to produce images with a more natural contrast while Color Restoration to restore the color of the digital image. The results of this study success in enhancement the quality of dark image and normal image, while the overexposure image was slightly enhancement and the complex image has no significant enhancemet.
