Abstract
The purpose of this research is to produce Class VIA (Oxygen) and Group VIIA (Halogen) Elemental Chemistry Teaching Materials Based on Problem Based Learning in the Chemistry Education Study Program FKIP Sriwijaya University that is valid, practical, and effective. The research development model used by the researcher is Rowntree modified by Tessmer. The results of the research at the validity test stage according to Aiken showed that the validity of the material, pedagogics, and designs belonged to the high category with successive values of 0.89, 0.91, 0.93. The results of the practicality test of teaching materials according to Cronbach alpha stated that practical teaching materials with percent at the one to one and small group stages were 0.831 % and 0.889%, respectively. The results of the effectiveness test show that the teaching materials are categorized as high with an N-Gain value of 0.86. Based on this score, it shows that the teaching materials produced have met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness.
