Abstract

This study aims to understand the types and forms of illocutionary speech acts in 4 video podcasts on Deddy Corbuzier's Youtube Channel. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research because the research data is obtained from collecting information related to the speech to be studied and adapted to the theoretical study used, which focuses on illocutionary speech acts with pragmatic studies. The research data was obtained by collecting data from the free-to-talk method and followed by recording. The research was conducted by analyzing the utterances spoken by the speakers and their interlocutors, then grouping the utterances with the results of the descriptions of the speech intentions of the utterances, and a table of the amount of data as a helper to determine the number of utterances obtained from each type and form of illocutionary speech acts. In this study found all types of illocutionary speech acts according to Searle (200:3). There are five categories of illocutionary acts, namely representative, directive, commissive, expressive, and declarative speech acts. There are three forms of illocutionary speech acts (Nadar: 2009:71), namely declarative, interrogative and imperative sentences. The total number of data from the types and forms of illocutionary speech acts is 50 data.
