Abstract

This research examines the using of euphemisms on the March to July 2020 edition of the Mata Najwa talk show and the“implications for Indonesian language learning in schools. The purpose of this research is to describe the form and meaning of”euphemisms on the March to July 2020 edition of the Mata Najwa talk show. Describing the implications of the euphemism of the March to July 2020 edition of the Mata Najwa talk show on Indonesian language learning in schools.“This research is a descriptive qualitative research type. The data source for this research is the”March to July 2020 edition of the Mata Najwa talk show. The data collection technique is did using the“note-taking technique. Data analysis uses descriptive qualitative method and informal presentation of”result. Based on the result of data analysis, the researcher finds 41 data in the form of words, phrases, and expressions. It shows that euphemisms are often used by people to refine words so as not to offend the interlocutor.
