Abstract

This research is entitled "The Existence of Ebeg Banyumasan Art of the Transmigration Society of the Javanese Tribe in Tugumulyo District, Musi Rawas Regency 1981-2020". The problems in this research were about how was the history of ebeg banyumasan art in Tugumulyo District, Musi Rawas Regency, how was the existence of Banyumasan ebeg art in Tugumulyo District, Musi Rawas Regency in 1981-2020, and how was the impact of ebeg art on the community in Tugumulyo District, Musi Rawas Regency. The purposes of this study were to explain the history and existence of ebeg art in Tugumulyo District, Musi Rawas Regency in 1981-2020 and the impact of ebeg art on society. The method used in this research was a historical research method which includes Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. This research is assisted by anthropological, sociological, and economic approaches. The data was collected through interviews, documentation, and literature study. The result of this research showed that the art of ebeg banyumasan in Tugumulyo District was a traditional art brought by the transmigrant community from Central Java. The existence of this art is marked by the establishment of an association that preserves it. There were 5 ebeg associations in Tugumulyo District, namely Turiguno, Mekar Sari, Ebeg Banyumasan "Hanura", Sido Lestari, and Dadi Rahayu. In the era of the 1980s to 1990s, ebeg art was very popular because at that time there were not many other arts. In 2020 the existence of ebeg decreased due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In the economic aspect, ebeg art cannot be used as a source of livelihood. In the social aspect, ebeg art is used as a means of social interaction in society. Meanwhile, in the cultural aspect, there is no element of cultural mixing (acculturation) with the culture of the local community. Penelitian ini berjudul “Eksistensi Kesenian Ebeg Banyumasan Masyarakat Transmigrasi Suku Jawa di Kecamatan Tugumulyo Kabupaten Musi Rawas Tahun 1981-2020”. Adapun permasalahan pada penelitian ini adalah bagaimana sejarah kesenian ebeg banyumasan di Kecamatan Tugumulyo Kabupaten Musi Rawas, bagaimana eksistensi kesenian ebeg banyumasan di Kecamatan Tugumulyo Kabupaten Musi Rawas Tahun 1981-2020, dan bagaimana dampak kesenian ebeg terhadap masyarakat di Kecamatan Tugumulyo Kabupaten Musi Rawas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan sejarah dan esksistensi kesenian ebeg di Kecamatan Tugumulyo Kabupaten Musi Rawas pada tahun 1981-2020 serta dampak kesenian ebeg terhadap masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian sejarah yang meliputi Heuristik, Kritik sumber, Interpretasi, dan Historiografi. Dalam penelitian ini dibantu dengan pendekatan antropologi, sosiologi, dan ekonomi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah kesenian ebeg banyumasan di Kecamatan Tugumulyo merupakan kesenian tradisional yang dibawa oleh masyarakat transmigran dari Jawa Tengah. Eksistensi kesenian ini ditandai dengan pendirian paguyuban yang melestarikannya. Terdapat 5 paguyuban ebeg di Kecamatan Tugumulyo yaitu Turiguno, Mekar Sari, Ebeg Banyumasan “Hanura”, Sido Lestari, dan Dadi Rahayu. Pada era 1980-an sampai 1990-an kesenian ebeg ramai peminat dikarenakan masa itu belum banyak kesenian lain. Pada tahun 2020 eksistensi ebeg menurun dikarenakan pandemi Covid-19. Dalam aspek ekonomi kesenian ebeg tidak dapat digunakan sebagai sumber mata pencaharian. Dalam aspek sosial kesenian ebeg digunakan sebagai sarana interaksi sosial dalam masyarakat. Sedangkan dalam aspek budaya, tidak terlihat unsur percampuran budaya (akulturasi) dengan budaya masyarakat lokal.
