Abstract
This research focuses on the synthesis of single layer Fe2O3 and Fe2O3/ZnO hybrid layers using the spray pyrolysis method with the aim of conducting photoelectrochemical studies on samples that have been synthesized with volume variations of 10 and 30 mL in each layer variation (Fe2O3, Fe2O3/ZnO, ZnO/Fe2O3) which was annealed at 500˚C. Photoelectrochemical studies using the LSV method showed that the single layer Fe2O3 sample gave a photoconversion efficiency (PCE) value of 0.0%. Testing the Amperometric Detection (AD) method at a voltage of 0.4 V shows that a hybrid layer with ZnO needs to be done to minimize electron pair recombination in Fe2O3. causes a decrease in the current density during measurement and the number of spots on the sample which causes the solution to coat the FTO substrate unevenly.
