Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh perlakuan irigasi defisit terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi tomat cherry (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill var.cerasiforma). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan empat taraf perlakuan pemberian air yaitu 60%, 70%, 80%, dan 100% yang diaplikasikan pada 36 tanaman tomat cherry. Parameter yang diamati adalah pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman, berat berangkasan kering, lama produksi, dan hasil produksi tanaman tomat cherry. Digunakan analisis keragaman dan uji lanjut Duncan pada penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan taraf perlakuan pemberian air berpengaruh kepada pertumbuhan tinggi tanaman tomat cherry, berat berangkasan kering tomat cherry, dan hasil produksi tanaman tomat cherry, namun tidak berpengaruh terhadap lama produksi tanaman tomat cherry. Perlakuan irigasi defisit dapat diterapkan pada tomat cherry pada fase vegetatif dan fase pembungaan dengan taraf perlakuan pemberian air 80%. Dengan menghemat pemberian air 20% tanaman dapat tumbuh 92,99% dari pertumbuhan tomat cherry dengan pengairan penuh di fase vegetatif dan 94,31% pada fase pembungaan. Pada panen pertama tanaman dengan taraf perlakuan pemberian air 80% mencapai 90,05% dari hasil panen tomat cherry dengan pengairan penuh dan 96,59% pada panen kedua.
