Abstract
Sorghum is a food crop which all parts of it can be utilized so that it has great potential to be developed in Indonesia. Tidal land is one type of agricultural ecology that has wide potential for food crops. However, there is still a need to improve soil fertility management. This study aims to determine the effect of growth and production of sorghum by giving chicken manure and dolomite in tidal soil. The research was carried out at the Greenhouse, Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from April to October 2021. The method used a Factorial Completely Randomized Design consisting of two factors, namely the dose of chicken manure and the dose of dolomite lime. The dose of chicken manure consisted of 4 levels, namely control (P0), 5 tons ha-1 (P1), 6,5 tons ha-1 (P2) and 8,5 tons ha-1 (P3). The doses of dolomite lime were control 0 tons ha-1 (K1) and 0,404 tons ha-1 (K2). The results showed that the treatment of chicken manure and dolomite had a significant effect on plant height, number of leaves and P-available soil. There is an interaction between the treatment of chicken manure and dolomite lime on the available Pavailable soil. Chicken manure dose of 6,5 tons ha-1 and dolomite 0,404 tons ha-1 was the best treatment for soil P, growth and yield of sorghum. Keywords: Sorghum, Tidal soil, Chicken manure fertilizer, Dolomite.
