Abstract

The purpose of this research were to: (1) analyze rate of the conversion of rice field area in Banyuasin District, (2) analyze impact of conversion of rice field area about the level of rice production and trend rice production in Banyuasin District, (3) analyze the factors that cause of conversion of rice field area on the level of farmers in Sri Menanti Village, (4) analayze the differences about between the income of farmes that carry out conversion of rice field and farmes that not carry out conversion of rice field area in Sri Menanti Village. The reaserch was conducted on October 2017 in Sri Menanti Village, Tanjung Lago Subdistrict, Banyuasin District. The research method was survei method and the sampling method was proportionate stratified random sampling that used 40 sampels of farmers that not to carry out of conversion of rice field area and 10 samples of farmers that carry out of conversion of rice field area. The results of this research are : (1) the rate of conversion of rice field area in Banyuasin District preference to rising for the next years ; (2) the conversion of rice field area is not influential with the rice production in Banyuasin District and analyze of trend of rice production for next years are will be rise up, (3) the factors that significant affected the farmers carry out conversion of rice field area are rice field area and the income; (4) there was no diffrence for farmers’s income before or after that carry out the conversion of rice.
