Abstract
The purpose of the article's writing was to know of the existence Ngidang in the city of palembang. Ngidang tradition It's a common cultural heritage that comes with alms or embassy. Data presented by field observations, interviews, and literature studies. The research Is done by using historical methods and data collected are analyzed with It approaches sociology. The Ngidang are a characteristic tradition that develops in society Palembang of a that has flourished since the time of the empire. However, Its existence is now increasingly difficult to find because of people's need for practicality To make these traditions become superseded by French or buffet cultures that have evolved since the 90’s.
