Abstract

The existence of constant water sources such as lakes, rivers and underground water which fluctuates due to seasonal changes and the emergence of anthropogenic substances that pollute water sources can be one solution and support the SDGs. Rainwater Harvesting (PAH) can save the potential for wasted rainwater and reduce the possibility of flooding due to heavy rainwater runoff. In this study, the simulation modeling of rainwater harvesting system was carried out using the Yield After Spillage (YAS) algorithm in the city of Liwa. This assessment considers 5 combinations of demand, 5 combinations of catchment area, 5 tank capacities and applicable water rates, resulting in 125 different configurations of values. Assessment of the performance and potential of the rainwater harvesting system is determined by Water Saving efficiency and time trick reliability. Economic valuation is obtained from Life Cycle Cost Analysis. The benefits obtained from the potential water savings with rainwater harvesting systems are converted into financial savings according to the applicable water tariffs and costs are determined based on the initial installation costs of the rainwater harvesting system. The results of this study indicate that the City of Liwa has the highest WSE rate of 99.99%. The resulting LCCA for the combination (5 people, 30 m2 and 0.5 m3) has the smallest capital value when installing RWH of Rp. 14,529,814.
