Abstract

This study aimed to determine the learning motivation of children from divorced parents. This study used descriptive quantitative method. Data collection technique that was used in this study was a questionnaire to children whose parents divorced and documentation in the form of divorce data from the Pengadilan Agama Sekayu. The population of children from divorced parents in Lumpatan Village was 39 children, and the sample was 25 children that were chosen by Purposive Sampling, with criteria being children from divorced parents living, and still studying at primary school and junior high school. Data were analyzed descriptively by using percentage. The results showed that the motivation of learning of children from parents who divorced by high criteria in Lumpatan Village Musi Banyuasin Regency. The results derived from intrinsic learning motivation that is not often come too late when entering school, and from the extrinsic learning motivation of making the best possible study schedule. It is suggested to have good communications with children even though the family is not intact anymore and the needs of children can be fulfil well from even though their father and mother are separated.
